The Valley of the Shadow of Death—As one of the darkest and most feared valleys, it serves as a metaphor for facing life’s darkest days of sadness, sickness, loss, or danger. Even or especially here, God shows up in profoundly personal ways. It is in the dark valley that we discover it becomes the valley of God’s presence. How does this change the way we face and experience our deepest fears? Where do we find hope and comfort when life seems all wrong?
