The pattern in the New Testament letters is to thank God for the people receiving the letter. It was Paul’s way of showing heart-felt appreciation and love for people. It’s a great way to frame a relationship; demonstrating thanks for who someone is and how God has blessed you with that person in your life. Can you imagine the difference you would feel in your heart and mind if you thanked God every day for your coworkers, your spouse, your kids, and your church family? We often feel happier when we know we are valued and appreciated. So sharing your gratitude for someone encourages them.

Practice: Each day this week, write (text, email, etc.) someone a thank you note.
