Jacob was a good businessman. He could sniff out a deal a mile away and could strategically turn it to his advantage. The risk for Jacob was to give up control when he was so good at business and to bless his kids and grandchildren without expecting anything in return. Jacob had to embrace the fact that all his ability was a gift from God and that God was to be in charge of how it was to be used. Where might God be calling you to give him the glory for your abilities and surrender control to him for how they are used and who they might benefit, even when they don’t deserve it?
