Hello church family,
My husband Michael and I hope this finds everyone feeling God’s work in your lives everyday and knowing you are loved. This is a personal appeal to all of you and an offer to connect with one of our team directly.
Below you will find a list of those who have been working through the development of small groups for the exciting coming 8 week event starting in October. Any one of us would be happy to take some time to discuss or answer questions regarding small groups and particularly the need and expectations of leading one. I know, it sounds like a really tall order. Leading a group? Wow, when will I find time for all that? Stepping into the unknown is definitely a challenge. But where would we be if the disciples didn’t?
I want to clear a few things away that may make leading a small group sound scarier than it should be! First, you don’t have to know everything! Leading could easily be renamed facilitation. We will be walking together through preplanned Scriptures that are in support of the series Pastor will be teaching during this season.
Second, you are not on your own! The team has been pooling together resources into a guide to help the group leaders facilitate and feel confident AND we are going to offer training, Q&A and support coming soon, September 14.
Michael and I have been a part of a small group for a few years now. We have loved each other through tough times, wins and losses, sickness and pain. We have grown together in Christ and in knowledge. Please consider committing to taking a leadership role for this short 8 week season.
Hebrews 10:24–25
And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
