The Purpose of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is not a lone-ranger, nor does he operate independently of the Trinity. In fact, the purpose of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus by applying the work of Christ in us. The Holy Spirit is the presence of Christ in us, transforming our hearts and minds to be like Christ, and empowering us to do the work of Christ in the world.  As we learn more about the purpose of the Spirit and we experience his power in our lives, we become more familiar with his voice and we can distinguish it from emotionalism or the Enemy. The Holy Spirit can do great works through us, but they are to glorify Jesus and no other.
