May 24, 2020 The Greatest is Love
Jesus made it crystal clear. It really all boils down to one thing: love; to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself. Without love, we are empty, bankrupt, nothing. But with love, we are a life-giving influence. The greatest thing we can do for someone is not fix, rescue, control, or tell them what to do, but to love. Love breaks through barriers and builds bridges by refusing to judge, by patiently being faithful and by continually finding hope in Christ and praying for it. Love accepts, values, and brings hope. Who has God placed near you to love? Who is your “neighbor?” What will your love look like for them this week?
Jesus said, ”Greater love has no one that this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” This weekend we honor those who have loved others by serving and sacrificing for our country.
